LONDON 26-4-2010

We are in London!
Finally we heard from our travel agent on Thursday that our flight was confirmed. How lucky we were to be booked on the first British Airways flight out of Sydney after a week of cancellations due to the volcanic ash in Iceland.
To our absolute amazement, we were notified in Sydney that we had been upgraded to Business Class, to make way for others who were desperately waiting for standby tickets. A very good start to our long awaited pilgrimage journey.
Spring blossom and daffodils are a wonderful welcome to London and the weather is clear. We have had walks in Kent today with Lucy and 7 month old Conor.
Conor had a visit to the V and A Museum on Tuesday with his Nanny and Pampy and then we went on to the Chelsea Physic Garden, where spring colours matched those in Greenwich Park.
Note London photos of blossom in L and L´s street amd other shots taken at the PG and Greenwich Park.
We head to Malaga and on to Granada on Friday 30th April.

One week to departure

It is now 15th April and this is a trial run to send a blog as an email direct to draft blog and it has worked! The photo is the view from our sitting room.
We now have one week until our flight to London, so we are into 'last
minute mode' with regard to exercise, buying those small chemist items,
a few more safety pins, checking equipment, and preparing our home for
a 4 month absence.
Reading blogs of others already walking is very encouraging and we
look forward to spring flowers and weather.
We are well aware of protection from the sun (living in
Queensland), so hats, long sleeves and trousers will be de rigueur para
camino and we have plenty of sun screen and lip protection!
Are we ready? We think so. Packs may be a little heavy but there is
always the 'correo' option.
